The Magic of the Machine – How it Works
Absolute Digital Precision
A revolutionary intra-oral scanner is at the heart of iTero. Guided by voice prompts, the dentist takes several scans of the teeth and the patient’s bite with a hand-held wand until a complete digital image is captured. With each scan, iTero software captures 100,000 data points in a patient’s mouth.
Visualize Work Area
Once the scan is complete, the digital models are magnified and displayed while the patient is still in the chair. This enhanced visualization, plus real-time analytical tools allows you to make adjustments if necessary before completing the scanning process.
Point and Click Simplicity–Digital Transfer
Once approved, the 3-D impression is uploaded to a workstation at a partnering laboratory via a wireless Internet connection. There is no need to schedule a pick up or deal with shipping forms; the digital scan arrives within minutes of transmission. Imagine, no missed pickups or dealing with secondary pickup locations. This means that teeth can be prepped any time, day, night, or even on weekends. The laboratory retrieves the digital file, completes the digital ditching process, and designs the virtual coping with the iTero CAD system. The final digital design is then transmitted to Cadent’s Milling Center.
Unmatched Accuracy
Cadent’s Milling Center utilizes state of the art industrial milling technology to create a physical model that is sent to the partnering laboratory for the creation of a highly precise restoration. In fact, Cadent crowns were selected in 7 of 10 cases in double-blind, clinical tests.
