Laboratory Frequently Asked Questions
Will my laboratory have to purchase any special equipment to process iTero restorations?
No. Cadent provides partnering laboratories with the required CAD software to process iTero restorations. The only additional cost to the laboratory is the purchase of the physical mode, die(s), and wax coping from Cadent. However, this cost is nominal, and usually offset by the savings of not having to create a physical model in-house.
Aside from the accuracy of the scan, what other advantages will my laboratory realize by embracing the iTero system?
The virtual elimination of remakes is enough to get most laboratories excited. However, iTero also offers laboratories better case communication with the dentist, the elimination of impression pickup, and greater efficiency.
Can my laboratory still handle non-iTero cases?
Absolutely! The only caveat is that you might not enjoy working on conventionally impressed cases as much.
